Orientation Program
All new students attend an orientation on their first day at The Academy. We cover the following topics:

¨ Setting up a bank account
¨ Work permit, Tax File Number, finding a job
¨ Public transport
¨ Accommodation options
¨ Medical services
¨ Things to see and do
¨ Shopping
¨ Visa regulations and school rules
¨ Legal services
¨ Complaints and appeals
¨ Emergency services and health
You'll also sit a placement test on your first day so we can place you in the appropriate class.
Counselling and Further Studies
Our priority is to make sure you have a rewarding and trouble-free experience in Sydney. Our team of bilingual counsellors are on-hand to assist you should you have any academic or personal concerns. We can also provide expert advice on your further study options.
Homestay Accommodation
Living with a local Sydney family is a great way to practice your English and learn about our customs, culture and lifestyle. Try it for a few weeks or a few years! All our homestays are conveniently located within thirty minutes of The Academy. Breakfasts and dinners are provided every day and lunches are also provided on weekends.
We can also advise you on alternative options such as hostels and share accommodation.
Airport Pick-up
Book our airport pick-up service and enjoy the perfect start to your new life in Sydney. Our friendly driver will greet you on arrival at Sydney Airport and transfer you directly to your accommodation.
Overseas Student Health Cover
If you are studying on a Student Visa, you will have paid for Overseas Student Health Cover. If you paid SELA for this, we will give you your membership card soon after you start your course. You can find information about your health cover on http://www.bupa.com.au.
Important note: if you are on a Student Visa you must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of your Student Visa.
